z400 big bore kits
#1
I did a search on different big bore kits and there was some info but all the web sites were not there when I tried them out. I'm looking at mickey dunlaps, ct racing, wiseco and others. Which ones do you guys perfer and contact info. I'm also wondering if when you do a big bore kit if you have to use 110 octane or can you still use 92 octane. Thank you for any info.

I've got the Wiseco 440 kit but it is still being re-sleeved . It was $250 but I heard people that are getting it even cheaper than that. Check out Millenium Technologies...they are quite advanced in the boring of the Z400 and can even bore out the stock cylinder to 434cc without actually buying a new sleeve. You will probably need to run 100 octane or higher, especially if you plan on getting a high compression piston. What current mods do you have?? The 440 will only do so much without the other extras like cams, pipe, carb, etc. Good luck

All I have now is a K&N filter but I am looking for a pipe and jet kit. I was looking at ct racing and they had a 453 big bore kit with 41mm carb, full pipe and jet kit and maybe more for I think $1800. I thought that was pretty good deal. Iwas thinking that 500 kit from mickey dunlap would be cool. I would like to be able to keep up or beat the predator and raptor with my lite z. I saw wiseco for $200 on ebay but wasn't sure how good it was and what kind of horsepower it would give me. The dyno on ctracing was about 55hp. How sweet.

Sure if you got the $$$ get the CT, or myabe even consider the Yoshi kit. They have been working with the Z motor for a long time and really know how to get everything out of it. I haven't heard anybody with the 500 kit but I doubt it would be as reliable. Definetly get the pipe first, and then install the cams if you still have the crave for more power. I think you will be suprised how fast it is with this done.

if you plan on doing a big bore kit, make sure you can get race gas in your area. NO ONE here sells race gas!
when i did my 330 i told mickey to make it run on high octane pump gas. Thats the way to go!
