Which pipe would be better for a polaris 400 sport 1998 2 stroke, a dyno port or fmf.(i want 2 silence it)

My brother had the dynoport pipe and it had great throttle response and a nice throaty sound, don't know about the fmf though. Hpd trail pipe will beat them both.

Both of those come from manufacturers that dont spiecalize in Polaris.I would look to Aaen,HPD,RCR or Hotseat.Andd get the clutch set up that they recomend for that pipe.

CPI custom pipe, they shown an 11 hp increase over stock, best gains ever on that motor...
it will especially shine if you port the engine then.

As the others said I would avoid FMF and others that DO NOT SPECIALIZE in polaris performance parts. THe support is just not there.
If you want a trail pipe I would go with either HPD or HSP.
If I had the choice I would go with the Hot Seat pipe because of its adjustability for more Low or top end power. It just give you some adjustability.

if you want a properly tuned pipe go with RCR,they offer low,mid-top-end pipes, the top end pipe for the 400 is better than hot seat,i have one.

While I have not had an RCR pipe, Many on hear have, most I believe have had the mid range pipe, They have upgraded to the HPD unit at a later date. RCR has out standing customer service hands down. They also have the best value. For Quality I would say HPD or HSP. RCR and AAEN make great products, but my feelings are HSP and HPD are a step ahead. JMPO
I have 3 pipes, AAEN top end, HSP gen II, and HPD trail. My initial feelings is the HSP pipe works best for me and it has the best fit and finish of the 3, hands down.
Bottom line, we could sit hear and argue who is the best all day but wouldn't accomplish anything, what you may own is always better than what you don't. You would be very please with any of the top Polaris experts.
One thing I noticed in your title(i want 2 silence it). If you want to avoid noise, well stay stock, LOL, The AAEN and from what I hear RCR pipes are very thin and LOUD, I find that the HPD and HSP pipes are little better for noise especially if you run a stock silencer.
