Old and new

Just wondering how the old (98-99) 454 and 500 compare with the new A/Cs as far as the front limited slip diff. Do the new slip easier or about the same.
I hear members locking the frond diff and say that they are hard to steer and my old 98 is hard the way it is. I can't imagine what it would be like "Locked"

ya my 98 is a tank. I havent driven a new one so i have nothing to compare it to. If my front end was looked it would be a *itch unless it was used strictly for mudding. I wouldnt lock mine and trail ride ill tell you that.

That's why I ask. I know back in 98 one of the complains was hard steering with the A/Cs and that does not seem to be a problem with the newer units. So I wonder if the new diffs slip a little easier than the old.
Heck VooDoo, The guys that have theirs locked mite have steering like ours are Now!!

Well if it wasnt any worse id do it. But the trail riding would suffer a lot. I wish, but we dont have the super mud hole competitions up here like catkrazy and maximus and them guys. The 98 would steer a lot better in 2x4.

After I locked mine, I now think that the thing drives like a 450 foreman Honda...Before the thing would steer like a dream...Big difference but not unbearable. I would have never done it if I didn't have 2wd/4wd selector.
