The DS threw me off yesterday!!! Only a little hurt.....

Well I was doing a roost sliding sideways in a small sand hole and when I was cresting the top the rear tire caught the dirt and totally LAUNCHED me about 15ft in the air and I dove sideways (head, left shoulder first with feet above my head) staight into the ground!!! When I hit the ground my elbow went straight into my ribs knocking the wind out of me LIKE I HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE!!!! Well, the combination of hitting my head (yes I ALWAYS wear a helmet) hitting my shoulder and knocking the wind out of myself BAD from jabbing my ribs I almost passed out from being so light headed but I caught my wind and layed on the ground a while. I checked out the quad after I got up and only bent the steering steam (luckily). All in all, I got badly bruised ribs, very sore shoulder, scraped up helment, and a bent steering stem that I already have fixed.
LESSON LEARNED: The ground is very F#%KIN HARD!!! thank god for helmets.
Now I get to sit around heal up, and think about what could have happend, I got pretty lucky. I WILL be investing in a chest protector soon because I have bruised my ribs before and I dont want to do it again. It also hurts like a bitch, and will probably take about a month to heal up. speaking of hurt and sore you people should have seen me try to get out of bed this morning!!! that sucked!!!
Also PLEASE guys and girls wear helmets!! I know if I wasnt wearing one when I did this I wouldn't have got up off the ground. I never ride without one and neither should anyone else.

Words to live by PUSHINTHELIMIT. Good to hear that your for the most part OK. But most important that your DS is OK
Seariously your lucky. We have prolly all been there. Me many times and two of those many ended in broken collar bones.
NO HELMET = NO RIDE, even if its just to the crapper

When I was a whipper snapper I raced a little MX and desert on a dirt bike for about five years and dumped it quite often but never got seriously hurt. Now, picking up the off road bug again after 20 year break I decided to get myself a new dirt bike and saw this baja thing thar and thought, this thing looks like a lot less work to ride than a dirt bike, anyway have biffed it about 3 times and onced landed on my arm and jammed it into my ribs. That rib pain lasted about 3 weeks, not unbearable but constant ya know. Now I always wear a chest pertector.

Yea I did the same thing last saturday PUSHIN,
I was starting to pull off a dough-nut in the sand at my local pit, and somehow the rear tire musta hit a hidden rock under the sand. Luckily I was going very slow and only flew about 2 feet away from the bike. The bike landed on it's side/back. I broke one of my headlight mounts and a bolt underneath my plastics made a dent from the inside of the fender, leaving a little white mark.
I don't think I bent anything, just the light.

Have to love the Torque though. That what caused my last rollover anyways. Just be happy the DS has all that power. Its like spin, spin, spin and then all of the sudden traction.

Ya, well I'm not alone I guess. Today my ribs hurt about 2 times more than yesterday. I can't even putt putt through the trails today. This sucks!
