My lame 3 minute ride
#1
Well I showed up to go riding yesterday at a friend of mines house where I ride every week at least once if not twice. I helped to create almost every trail on the property and you would think I know the land inside and out. I managed to find a stump hidden in a small tuft of grass and kicked my front end up and slammed my handle bars into my chin. I got one small cut and one that is about a half an inch long and fairly deep. I would have kept riding but I couldn't get it to stop bleeding completely. I could get it to stop about 85% and that was it. I probably should've got a stitch or two but I'm not up for sitting in the emergency room for 6 hours or more to get one stitch and lecture about ATVs being dangerous. I got it to completely stop bleeding a few hours later and it hasn't bleed since. It'll probably leave a small scar but I'm not joining any beauty pageants any time soon and it's on the underside of my chin so I'm not to worried about it. Oh well you live and learn...or not.

It's a combination of woods, hills, open areas, a pond, a stream, some horse shoes, a few jumps and some other misc obstacles. It was a stump from a couple years ago that was some how forgotten. We did most of the work with chainsaws, shovels, axes and whatever else we needed. We tried to look at the layout of the property and clear as many wide trails as we could by just ripping out brush and then moving the trees that had to go. We are pretty good about ripping out stumps or digging around them and cutting them off below ground level so we can rebury them. I guess this one got away from us. Some of the areas are heavily wooded but this wasn't one of those areas. I guess I got cocky thinking I knew every inch and paid the price. About 90% of the bleeding stopped shortly after but it took me a few hours to get it to stop putting out little spots of blood. It hasn't bleed in over 24 hours it just feels like someone busted me in the jaw but the swelling is minimal.
