My neighbor just removed the spark arrester from his 250EX. He is wondering if it will hurt his 4-wheeler if he continues to run it with the spark arrester removed.any reply would be great

 

No it wont hurt in because all it is, is a little screen which is ment really for enviromental puposes but he may get introuble if he goes riding and gets checked.

 

One of my buddies has a 250ex and he took out the spark arrestor. It made it a little louder and he said he felt a little more power but I'm not sure I could tell the difference other than the noise. I do know that it had a lot of let off back fire after removing it which leads me to believe it was allowing more air through. If this was the case then it was running leaner and probably hotter. There are other guys on here who have more knowledge than me and could verify it. These are just my observations of someone else's quad.
