Sportsman 400 or a Magnum 330 4x4
#1
Looking to buy either of the two for my son...I was going to buy the magnum but was told that the lack of power is really a issue....My question is, The 400 Sp weight is much more than the magnum ..so is the small400cc going to be a dog...or should I stay and buy a magnum 330 ......
Price I'm getting is only $600.00 difference....
We are compairing 4x4's...
Speed isn't a issue... (I don't want him going to fast yet as this is his first quad).....but power is.
Thanks for any input.

I have owned the 425 Mag, the 500 Mag, the 400L, the 400 scrambler.
My neighbor has the 330 4x4 and hates it, wishes he had his 400 back.
I own the 400 Scrambler and a 650 Prairie.
The 650 P is the best way to go over all!!!!!!!!
The Polaris's that were best were the 425, and 400L/Scramblers.
Didn't like the 500 that much.

I have the 425 expedition, remember the shifter?(now discontinued, I dont know why). My brother in law has the magnum. Its night and day difference. His lack of power isnt even funny. He gets stuck where I power through. Keep in mind my quad is a manual shifter vs auto, but that shouldnt make up for much difference. There just seems to be a huge lack of tourque in the 330, his isnt quick at all. I dont know how long it takes to get up to top speed what ever that may be, but it takes a long road. I think you would be much happier with the 400sp. My 425 engine has 2000 trouble free miles and seems to run better know than it did when I first bought it.

Get the Sportsman 400. the magnum 330 sux its actually a 300 series thats been pumped up a little. My friend got one and I hate it. It makes this high pitch hum noise like its got another gear its gotta go into or somethin. You can also see a big difference in the Power of a Sportsman 400 and a Magnum 330. Also The Weight isnt that much different. Magnums are made cheaper and you get alot less. What Id actually recommend is a Sportsman 500 cuz they got all the power ya need for anything, or a Scrambler 400.
