ANyone know how to get those darn pins in the axles out?

I need to get out the axle from teh tranny output to the frond diff, the u-joint is really screwed up badly and I can't get the pin out. It looks almost like it's a wound up flat spring or something.

If it is the one I am thinking about, you just have to yank it reallt hard and it will come out. It should be a spring type clip if that is the one.

 

No I think your talking about the CV? that has the round snap ring like thing? Not sure.

It is like a pin that is insterted and needs to be driven out. Same deal that is holding the front CV shafts to the differential.

 

Roll pin remover tool - or a pin punch. It is a roll pin.

 

Ok, is it supposed to just pound out, cause I beat on it for awhile and I got a piece of it out, but there is still a piece in there.

 

OK, my fault, yes I was talking about the cv joint. The pin you are talking about, yes just need a punch to punch it out. It may have broke when you were pounding on it, should come on out, the rest of it.
