Dirt Wheels just had a review - claimed top speed of 55mph (edging out the Honda 250Ex @ 51mph)

Go compare them side by side.

the Z250 is clearly a better bike. I couldn't believe the difference in how they looked! The z250 just looks like a better bike.

The 250EX is nothing more than a sport frame with a Recon motor. another striking of Honda R&D doing a great job.

Z250 hands down,,,,I rode them both and the Z kicks the EX a$$ all the way through the gears,,,plus it looks a LOT better.....
All and all it's a SWEET little ride....Can't stay off the darn thing....
Ride them both and you'll see for yourself.....

The z250 is easily the more powerful bike but it's a first year model. I just can't foresee anything really major going wrong on it. Of course everyone has heard about the z400 frame thing and it is true but I think the z250 will be fine. I may have to get my z400 a little brother.

The Z250 is a Lighter, Sportier, Faster version of the Ozark 250 that has prooven to be a very reliable Quad. The Z does Everything that the 250EX does, and it does it Better. That's not saying that the EX is a bad quad, the Z250 is simply the next step in the evolution of the entry level 250 Sport Quad market. I'm pretty impressed with the Z250 and I think it is going to be a real winner for Suzuki.

2000blasterbeater- Actually the frame of the 250EX is also from the Recon.

1wildhonda- The quoted speeds seem about right. 250EX- 51 mph & Z250- 55 mph. The Z250 does have 17 cc's more. As long as the Z250 proves to be somewhat reliable, I would probably lean towards the Z250. More umph for the same price. Shame the Z250 doesn't come in red. Honda has quads in Suzuki's yellow color. Why can't Suzuki have red race style quads?

I had the same choice for my wife, and I choose the Z over the EX. I could of got either one for $3600otd, so then it came to options. What really got me to choose the z over the ex was, the z has a brake light, you can start it in any gear, and has adjustable suspension. These might not seem like much, but for the same price, you get more for your money with the Z. Plus my wife likes the white. It matches her helmet.

GE4x4 Where did you purchase your z250 at? I cant believe you got it for 36 bills out the door! I paid 45 otd and had to wheel and deal with local and out of town dealers and the local lost because they didnt want to go below 45.

For one thing, we have no sales tax, and another thing, I've bought 7 atv's from my dealer in the last 1 1/2 years, and have a very good relationship with the sales manager. Most places around here are getting full MSRP of $3899+prep and set-up. If you want, I can scan my sales reciept.
Just to give you a idea of how well there treating me, these are the atv's Ive bought.
02 Forman ES msrp $6399-what I paid $5700
02 Rancher ES 4x4 $5499----------------$5050 with 25" 589 M/T
03 Predator----------$5999----------------$5764
04 V-Force------------$6499----------------$5999
04 Z-250--------------$3899----------------$3600
