Default Got me a Cat

Hey guys, thanks for all the info. I have been reading the posts. Bought a Cat 400i last night
at the local dealer (closest atv dealer to my house, 2 miles away!). Pretty nice guy. OTD with a winch and brush plate for $5200 USD including title and everything. Somebody tell me if I got ripped. Is there anything I need to do right away besides new tires (mudlites) as far as vent hoses and such? Thanks again guys.

Congrats. on the new bike. That does not sound too bad. I bought a 2003 500 TBX last Friday and paid 6900 out the door with a winch and 60 inch plow. I think there is about a 1000.00 diff. between the 400 and 500 so I would say you did OK.

Whew! I first insured it through my allstate agent. Wow $468/yr. My dealer told me about
Voyager Marine in Frisco TX and they insured it for the same coverage for only $255/yr (much better).

Liability 50/100/50
Comp
Collision
$250 Deductible.

Clean Driving Record
25 yrs old & Married.

Their # if anybody wants to know is 1-800-342-4444. A woman named Velvet quoted it for me and was very nice to deal with.

Creekrider,
Call Progressive. I got 50/100/25, COmp. 100 ded, and Collision 500 ded. No Bodily Injury, and No underinsured motorists. The rate was 125.00 a year. Your's seems high. Just thought you might be interested.

I did an online quote with progressive and it was $487 for the same thing. I don't know why. hmmm
Greasmky, I live by longview over in east texas. There are 3 atv parks within 20 minutes of my house. Rabbit Creek (900 acres), Funwheeler (1200 Acres?), and Gator Run (5000 Acres). I can get to Rabbit Creek from my house on my Cat. There are also endless oil leases and woods. I went ridin yesterday and already bent up my brushguard that is only 4 days old. Tried riding through a trench that was tooo narrow. Have fun ridin, or what's the use?

Ride it Like ya stole it. Sounds like a good deal. I bought 28" Gators for mine. Post pictures i'm curious to see what kind of riding you have in texas. It's alot of rocky hills and swamp holes up this way. I haven't got any pictures to post yet. Haven't even tried to figure out how to post them. There is some company that sells a sunny day policy that's pretty cheap and the agent said it even covers damage to the bike even if it's on the trailer? I'll have to look into it some more.

Thegreensubmarine, I haven't taken any pics yet. I should carry my digital with me though. I've only had the Cat for 4 days, it's got 30 mi on it now. Here is a link with the different parks we ride around here. there are some pics of the nasty red clay/mud/dust that haunts our everyday life around these parts.

I pick up those 2 for $5 throw away cameras from staples rather than take my digital in the woods just in case. I have 700 on one machine and 300+/- on the 400i. We ride about every sunday if the kids are'nt racing MX. Let us know what you find for ins when your done. I need to renew mine, It was a toss up for me between mudlites and the gators. A guy that rides with us all the time has gators and another guy has outlaws, I did'nt dare get the outlaws for a cat after reading about all the people here breaking cv joints. If it happens it happens. Mudlites look like great tires and i'll probably put them on my other machine. Gators are great in the snow, but you probably don't get to have that kind of fun.
