motor mods 4 a warrior
#3
With mods like that, you will also need to add an oil cooler, big bores will run HOT, and air cooled motors need all the help they can get. Your oil will last longer, your clutch won't fade as fast, and you will keep making max power longer (overheated engines lose power fast).

2000IA, there are a couple of ways to get oil cooling for your quad, you can buy a kit, I know 4 stroke tech makes one,you will need to remove and drill and tap the engine case on one side for the fittings,it is supposed to supply the cooled oil to the cam area, which seems to be a hot spot for that motor. An easy route is to find a 350 Wolverine or Big Bear oil filter cover, which has fittings on it for cooling lines, and run lines from there to a cooler, you can buy a small one for a car tranny cooler, or get one from a junk yard from a motorcycle or other quad that has an oil cooler. With the filter cover, you have zero drilling, and can put it back to stock if you ever sell. I know someone will insist the one routing oil to the cam is better, and I'm not saying it isn't, but anyway you remove heat from the oil will greatly increase oil and engine life. Whatever way you choose, your motor will be much happier and cooler.

is the oil filter cover the same for the warrior and wolv i know the motor is but not sure if the cover was.. idc if it goes to the cam or not.. so i can take the filter cover and the whole wolv oil cooling systhem and bolt it in without any drilling and tappin? friend of mine just totaled his motor and rear/fornt end on his and is parting it out but he lives 3 hrs away but if the cooler will fit i mgiht go up and get it!

Not to say that ALBA doesn't have a good setup... but Micky has a reputation for being the Warrior King of Mods.... Be prepared to spend some serious scratch if you go the ultimate warrior route. That money would make a good down payment on a new Raptor or YFZ450 that Yamaha just came out with. ( I just gotta have one) Said to be faster than my Raptor 660, and definately going to out perform my old Warrior.... (that has one of Micky's kits and is a great improvement over stock)
