My brother has a 99 Warrior it just clicks when you push the start button, it will not start from jumping the selonoid, it also clicks with the key on when you slide the kill switch back on/off. We took the starter off it could use some brushes but it spins normal off the bike with 12v power applied.... Where is our problem we can't figure it out. It used to start just fine...HELP please?????

well i really really hate to tell you this but.. its the starter i am almost 100% sure it is.. my 00 did the same thing went into storage and went to start it and it just clicked and clicked and clicked thought it was batter charged it and it clicked some more.. it was the starter the best thing to do is it find someone to rebuild it its bout 100 bucks for a new starter its 300 or so.. but mayb it aint the starter.. but i think it is.. when did it start happening? like after you rode it then next day or what?

It started like almost a week after i got it used...it looks like brand new an hasn't been run hard or anything and just dont understand why it just uped and stoped on me.... it happened to me when i was stoped to talk to a guy on top of a hill after i stoped i turned it off and then turned it back on and just clicked and that was that.. done it sence.. and like ever so often when you push it in gear it may kick the start and sometimes it don't

i'm not sure how the starter is as far as accessibility on a warrior but can you take a pair of jumper cables and hook one pair up to a battery, the other ground to the frame and the power to the positive terminal on the starter? that will tell you definitively if it is the starter. ok maybe i should clarify here, with the starter ON the fourwheeler jumper battery power right to the starter, bypassing the solenoid and switch. try that and see what happens. Good luck!

He took the Starter off and jumpers on it an it ran like a brand new one... soo what. an he just said the brushes are about wore out tho.... so it may just need the new kit or it may be other things..
