What are your thoughts on the yfz450?

I know there are alot of threads with some info, but curious what your thoughts are.
My concerns are aluminum upper a arms, will they live in the real world?
aluminum subframe, same as above
I know there are other questions I have, but I cant remember right now, it is getting late for me.
I am thinking I might have to get one for the wife but wondering about the durability of it all.

aluminum doesnt scare me.my 01 rappy has all the stock arms, subframe ect and has never had a problem.350 pounds,low,wide,yzf450 power,no reverse.good shocks,7000 bucks.its what everyone has been screeming they want.but yamaha screwed me once on a first year quad i wont be buying for at least a year.
good luck to all the guinee pigs out there
for a extra 600 id probably buy the 300 gasgas at this time.a year from now who nows

its a mx quad. made for the 400-450 class. honda nad yami have such pull the class will be bumped to 450 and Im scared to see what kawi heavy industries puts out. it may be sick. screw the kawasucki stuff.. I mean legit power cuase they just showed us the 250 4 stroke bike....now kawi 450 4 stroke in a quad....and they will put big hp in quad...49.4 "listed": on a kfx700 when it is more then that....
lets wait a model year ro see what happens.... Im not selling anything yet....

I've always wanted the 450 motor in a four wheeler frame and now Yamaha is producing it. I will wait a year or so to let them get any kinks they might have worked out and then I would like to purchase one. I will still keep my Raptor too but I think the 450 will be a very quick quad stock and then modify it and it will be a true beast while reving to the moon. All in All I would say good move Yamaha. sweet.
hard to believe there weight claim if you know anything about the snowmobile industry yamaha is know for being heavy and all they did was get heavier with the rx-1
now they need to stick the shee engine in that frame.

I think it looks good, not exaclty the most durable quad in term of crashing though. Im sure it will take the beatings of riding it without a problem but when it crashes it might fold up like origammy (sp?????????????????????) I would like to own one myself, and am not scared of it being a 1st year quad. The rappy probs were mostly ENGINE probs and this is a tested engine. There will always be something else to break though. If it doesn't come out by july 17 I wont get one, instead ill have another rap or banshee. This thing probably jumps and MX's like a dream though, im so tempted to wait it out and get one. MMMMmmm butterfingers

I don't know I think the raptor is pretty light so I could beleive their numbers on the weight.

That thing is bada$$! I was seriously thinking about getting a Predator, but now I'm not so sure. Both first year bikes, so who knows what they got in store for us. Unfortunatly, I'm an Impatient person, so I'll probably end up a labrat! Oh well, bring it!
