02 Polaris Magnum 325 - Hot Start Problem
#1
I don't know about anybody else who may be having this problem. I live on Vancouver Island and do most of my riding between 1000ft and 5000ft. mostly mountains. Seems as though after a hard climb or hard push and I shut her down you can hear the gas boiling through the gas tank. When I start it up to get going again I have too many gas vapors and I have to jently feather the throttle till she clears her self up. I've had my Magnum into three dealers and with out physically taking it out themselves they all tell me that they are unable to duplicate the problem.
Note: When it was new I was only able to get 10.8 Imperial MPG, now I'm up to 19.6 Imperial MPG, is this normal?
Fuel Capacity 12.1 Liters = 3.2 US gal = 2.66 Imp. gal
Last Ride used 11.7 Liters for 49.8 miles or 80 KM
hmmmmm.......not to happy with my decision, seems everybody passes me uphill or on a straight away and I am always having to carry additional gas because I am the first to run out....not to happy!

Running too rich would cause alot of problems, like sluggishness, running worse after warming up, poor gas mileage, etc. I would check all of your vent lines for kinks, pinches or clogs of dirt. The ones to check would be: the ones leading from the carb., the one leading from the fuel tank and also check the fitting in the fuel filler neck area where the vent line leads from for clogging.

Hey Mike, drop me an e-mail hnagtegaal@shaw.ca and let me know where on the Island you are located. What are you currently riding?
