Jetting Problems w/ 300ex

I have a Graydon Proline pipe/silencer and i have 10 1" holes in my airbox lid...the problem is that it is starting to heat up a lot and when i give it gas at high revs it skips...so i jetted up 2 notches and it bogged out BAD when i touched the gas but didnt skip at high revs. i went down a notch and it still did it. so i left it the same with the small skip. Any ideas on what i should do?

What do you mean, jetted up 2 notches? On the needle, or the main jet. If it is skiping at high rpm's then you might need to raise the main jet. I am not completly sure so don't go chaging things until someone that has more knowledge resonds also.

I too am a little confused by your explanation. Exactly what did you do? I'm not sure what you mean by "notches". Over heating can be caused by a lean condition & the problems get much worse with continued use. Put your jet needle in the 3rd position (center slot). Then install a main jet two sizes fatter than you now run.Put in a new plug and test ride at 3/4 to full throttle for at least 1/2 mile.
Cut your engine & pull & read your plug for color. If it shows tan or light brown and you had no cutting out at full throttle you have the right air/fuel mix

whats the deal they won't let you say ********* on hear? nah I think I've changed my mind cause I've heard the graydon proline pipe doesn't add hardly any top end. I'm gonna be doing some mx racing and need quite a bit of top end. I'm looking at the supetrapp ids2 or white bros e-series.anyways see ya

well not the tracks around hear they are big long and fast! you just gotta haul to do the jumps. thats why I want some top end. today I rode a banshee for the first time. I like the top end of it but I got tired real easy cause it doesn't haddle quite as good as my 300ex. anyways I want a pipe that adds alot of top without taking any of the bottom away. later man
