Default Rincon Owners ... Need some feedback ..

I'm new to the atv world and i have a question about some noises comming from my quad. I'm still in the break-in period and i have a noise comming from the tranny, i think. It seems to happen everyonce an a while and only in first gear. Its a kind of a slight clunking noise. Anybody else with a Rincon notice this. Or is this normal. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Oh yea, i have 4.5 hours on the quad.

Default Rincon Owners ... Need some feedback ..

I noticed a slight noise at times when I first bought my Rincon and never really paid attention to it but it was a clunking type noise that you might say came from the tranny. I brought to my dealer for the first service at 100 miles and asked them to check the brakes because I noticed the brake lights would flicker on and off when my friends would ride it. I picked it up the next day and I noticed that noise I heard in the past was there and VERY LOUD now. Every time I used the left lever(rear brake) or foot lever (rear brake) it was there and it was louder the harder I used the brake. Keep in mind the left lever is now beautifully adjusted and works great and the brake lights DO NOT flicker now. They tell me it is a normal noise due to the rear brake disc being fixed to the rear drive shaft and Honda even has a tech bulliten out they let me read. I don't like the noise but it doesn't seem to affect the performance of the machine.
PLEASE, ANY ONE WITH A SIMILAR NOISE PLEASE REPLY TO THIS OR REPLY TO ME AT BDS05759@ADELPHIA.NET
Thanks

you are likely to have a couple of causes of noise from the rear when braking (esp. when braking hard). first, its a shaft and they will jump a little when you are tooling along and brake hard with the rear brake. secondly, the rincon uses what is called a one way locking torque converter to get what engine breaking it does have to the wheels. essentially what happens is that when giving gas, you get the normal operation of a torque converter, however, when you are coming down a hill or simply release the gas, it will allow the momentum of the bike to essentially push through the tranny and get some engine breaking.

come on now we all know that a sportsmans is too heavy and is too hard to work on in the woods and sounds like a bucket of bolts after a year.
