Default scrambler carb???

I found that someone on ebay is selling their stock carb from their Predator. It is a 42mm Mikuni BSR. Will this fit on a scrambler 500 without any modifications? Just wondering because Aaen is the only place that has a 42mm TMX carb and it is $300. This carb on Ebay is at $100 right now

The stock is a Mikuni 40mmBSR. Aaen claims 4 HP with their 42mm TMX. I am just wondering if a 42mm BSR off a pred would bolt right up.

Go to Partsland and do a comparison of the two carbs side by side. I can tell you that the 42 would flow more air, but it totally different design than the TMX. The TMX is built to give a faster throttle response and contains fuel around the main jet better than the BSR. The TMX is alot more advanced and would give more performance.

The TMX is gonna give you crisper throttle response. The performance side of Mikuni swears by the HSR and giggles when the BSR is mentioned.

What if I could find a 42mm HSR off a Harley? Would that work better than the 42mm BSR off the Pred?

Mikuni sells the HSR seperate, you don't have to raid a hog....unless you want to. There are some concerns about a stiffer throttle actuation due to the pump.
