Will Artic Cat's 650 V-Twin kill SP 700 sales?

Looking at the specs of the new AC 650 V-Twin, allmost looks like the atv everyone has been asking to make. Long suspension travel, IRS, 12"GC, large fuel capacity, no struts, powerful engine that has been proven, 2x4 or 4x4 and locked, and light weight. Did Artic Cat just make that? Sure looks that way.

That's funny. The local AC dealer's lot is always empty, no joke, it is. Competition always helps the market, especially on the consumer side.

I think some people are kind of scared to commit to a company this new in the atv industry. We all know what looks good on paper does not mean anything in real world conditions. AC has not been without their share of problems in the last couple of years. I will be real surprised if the new AC650 does not break axles as fast as they can be built. This has been a serious issue with the less powerful 2002 and 2003 500s. Polaris has proven themselves in the atv market and I don't think they have much to worry about. We shall see what AC is made of with the new 650.
