Default Some predator questions...

Ive got a 400ex right now that I race mx. Its a good quad and very reliable but it just doesnt have the engine to compete with the raptors and z400s (and soon to be yfz450 ) on the track. I will be done paying off my 400ex in a few months and am looking around now for something else. I have narrowed my choices to a used 02 raptor or predator but im mainly leaning towards the predator. If I can sell my 400ex and get 4300 for it like I want, i would like to put that down on a new predator. Im 16 and have a steady job ive been working for 6 years. I make 200 a month and have been making payments of 150 a month on the 400ex. Do you guys think if i put around 4000 down that a polaris dealer will let me make payments of 150 a month? Also is the predator a reliable quad and how is the suspension for aggressive mx, i do alot of trail riding too. Thanks alot for the help!! I really appreciate it. , David

I think the Predator is a great quad. It's my first sport machine, and I'm glad I bought it. I've made a couple of changes, geared it lower, made a hundred suspension setting changes, put on different tires, nerfs, handguards and hand/thumb warmers. I've got it right about where I want it. I would recommend it highly.

Having a predator and racing mx against some raptors, You would have to ride the heck out of a Raptor to keep up with a Predator. Cornering is the big difference, althoughIt is tough to pull one in a straightaway. TCS or PEP shocks and wide A-Arms would probably make a huge difference but then why wouldn't a guy just buy a predator or YZF 450....?

Here's my suggestion for getting the predator. First, You'll need to finance close to $2k so, make sure that someone will co-sign the loan for you. If you're that responsible with your payment history like you said, that should be no problem. Second, save $25 to buy a 13T sprocket, and you'll be very pleased without sinking a bunch of additional cash into it. Third, it is very reliable, just avoid shifting without the clutch - it doesn't like that. Fourth, the suspension is fully adjustable, better than any other quad on the market right now. Buy the Predator. You'll be happy.

Go with the Predator, they r the best! I payed $5,900 for mine. i put 2 grand down and i got it for $100 a month. they r the best four stroke around, i have smoked exs, raptors, and z400s on dirt and sand. predator is by far the best. it is great for mx because of its PRO suspention, it lets u stay on the gas around turns and u know how important that can be. plus the ride is soooo much smoother. go with the predator.

Polaris has stood behind the few first year burps of the Predator, while Yamaha denied 2001 Raptor owners tranny rebuilds. If you want to ride now, the Predator is the best bang for the buck. If you want to wait a year til the 450 Yammi is tested, then I'd try each on for size. Customer loyalty can carry a long ways....but if the corporation wants to take the money and run, and not stand behind their product....how long til their loyalists run out of their hard earned dollars.

I went to my local polaris dealer today and looked at a predator and spoke with a salesman. He said that they have a few in stock and have only sold about 2, so im hoping they might cut me a deal. He said they do financing through polaris with 9.9% fixxed payments. Sounds good to me but id like to pay more than that a month so im not paying it off too far into college. The predator looks and feels awesome. Feels about like my 400ex just a tad bit higher and longer. I like it.
