what type of winch for my recon?

Default what type of winch for my recon?

hey everyone, i'm new w/ this and i have found myself getting stuck a few times w/ my recon es and its hard for me to get unstuck cause i'm small haha.. I was just wondering what type of winch you would reccommend for me, i dont need the best one, just one that will get me unstuck when i'm stuck..[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] would i need to buy a special part to mount it to my recon? thanks guys! A 1.5 warn would work,and no you can make a bracket for it[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Yea the warn 1500 lb should do fine. It has a mechanical brake and freespool. You can get the exact same winch with the honda name on it from parts unlimited or the moose utility name, which might be cheaper. The moose is also rated at 1700 lbs. You will need a mount, and the moose mount comes with a nice roller fairlead for under $50.00. The entire setup should be under $400.00.

Considering the question was originally posed in June of 2003, I'm betting he either figured it out or no longer cares...
