I am from PHILA PA and there are a couple of companies that do podwercoating they range from $200 for a solid color and it you want a 2 tone color effect like solid black and silver veins going through the black paint that will cost up to $350. This coating lasts a long time and is very durable

Here in central WI we have 3 places that are within 1 mile of each other. They have a flat rate of $75 for a frame and about $15 for a swing arm. I am getting mine powder coated next week. The trick is, is to find out what color they are doing that week. Most places don't have a problem just throwing yours in with a batch. The $300 probably includes a very pricey set up charge. If you are fairly flexible in your color choice you can avoid the set up fee and pay the cheaper rate. later. Eric

I'm sure you already know this, but you'll want to have the frame, A-arms, and swing arm disassembled, because the bearing seals won't take the heat from thr powdercoating process.

Blaster, for Gods sake man don't go cheap! I am the production manager at a metal finishing company, believe me I know. You've spent all this time and money on your ride and now when it comes to the final finish you're looking for cheap? Look for the best. I've been in the industry for some time and in general, as in life, you get what you pay for. Of the two options you listed, powder coat and chrome plate, powder is the way to go, based on a few assumptions I am making about you and your usage. Too many people don't understand chrome plating, what it does and doesn't do well or even the fact that there are two entirely different types of chrome plating. For swing arm and frame dress-ups you should contact a good paint/powder coater and discuss what you are trying to accomplish.

Actually i meant getting it powder coated in silver.

I would never get it chromed. After one muddy ride it would look horrible!

I got my frame, pegs, swingarm, and a-arms powdercoated for $250 here in CT. I got a royal blue with blue glitter clear coat. Looks sharp as hell, especially in the sunlight. Company is called Plas Tec.
