I ran into a guy at Bussey and he knows you. Had a 400ex full blown racer, said he knows you and you called him the other day for parts. What is his name. I missed it. A better description is...from Ottumwa I think, races GNCC "A" class, drives all over ^%$# to race, is about 6'4" and is nice and polite. I had a few questions for him. Thanks Mike Mazza

 

At least that's not as bad as someone who puts a Chevy or Ford engine in an IH truck! That is sickening!

 

Yeah, who the hell would want all that power when they could stick with the sluggish old flathead six?

 

Actually mine has a 345V-8 in it. Besides there is a difference between sluggish & torquey. Put 345 heads on a 392 IH V-8 and you've got a motor that makes 300+hp, goes twice as long between rebuilds as a Chevy or Ford & has much more pulling power. But if someone wants to put a CAR motor (chevy / ford) in a truck who am I to stop them...

Hehe, sorry, I don't know squat about IH rigs (I'm a Ford/Chevy man myself ). I was just giving ya a hard time, although I wouldn't call a Ford 460 a car engine (can you say torque?). :P

 

Actually a 460 is a car engine
Where as my 345 is the motor you find in dump trucks & schoolbuses. That's what was cool about IH's. The put the same drivelines in small trucks that they did in big trucks.

hummm 460 is a car engine nope they were put in lots of 2 ton 2 1/2 ton trucks i have 6 blown 460's cuase they couldnt handle the load not a good engine in my opion
if u really wanna stuff a yamaha engine in a 400ex nothing is stoping (maybe money) go ahead d it
