i know there was topics on this before but everyone's situation is a little different. anyways, my friend has a predator and my raptor has a yoshi slip on and is jetted. i pull away from him slighly through all the gears but then towards the end of fifth he blows by me. whats with that? higher top speed? just curious

 

I raced a friend with a predator, piped and jetted, he was a more experienced rider by far, I also was piped and jetted. He kicked my azz every time. I'm not saying the predator is faster, just in my situation he was faster than I was.

 

Happarap - where are those pics of sandlake at? Like what part? Headin there this weekend and those hill climbs dont ring a bell.

 

I think a raptor and a predator are just to close in speed and whoever hits the shifts better will probably win.

 

Does he have a different sprocket?

Those are the idiot holes, I believe they are on the northeast side, leaving the day use parking lot, head north away from the camping area and keep to the right, past comp hill. They drop down off the right side, down into the trees, some have names like Lost Goat.

I'll be heading down there next weekend, the 19th, let me know how your trip turned out.

Sounds like your main jetting is a little lean. It should be the other way around. You should be pulling him on the top end. What's your elevation and jetting? Still running an airbox lid?

well i think im around 1800 feet. no air box mods for me...just the slip on. when i picked it up they said they moved the clip and adjusted the float i think. It definately made a difference in throttle response. is there any way i can check to see if im running lean on the main jet or whatever? and no hes definately not a better rider than me. i mean, i dont drag race much but in general hes a grandma compared to me. hes doesnt even take it on trails. i guess i need to check my jetting? i checked my plug and it was a little black showing it was a lil rich which is fine with me. thanks
