Will a 250r with a pipe and filter beat any four stroke.
#1
Guys I've just been fussing with a guy who says a 250r with a pipe and air filter has never lost to a four stroke. Now I can see him beating maybe the 400's, although not all modded 400's but he says he beats all raptors, ds's, cannondale's you know any four banger. Does the 250r, which I do think is a great quad, really make this much power to beat all these big bore thumpers in a drag? I don't think so myself but I need some backup. I've seen a pretty hopped up r get beat by a friends raptor numerous runs in a 100 foot, 300foot, and 100 yard drag.

On a track, for sure the 250R will win (past tense).
In a drag, against raptors and DS's, it will win some loose more.

Kory Eliss won the GNC Mt.Morris MX round 8.
He rode 2 heats on the new YFZ450 and got two 3rd places.
The engine was stock, and they used LSR +2 arms and axle, as well as PEP shocks.
In the the process he set the fastest lap times ever!!!!!!!
He then switched back to his CRF440 LSR race bike, managing to win 5-1 overall.
Point is "FASTEST LAP TIMES on the new450" in its first appearance!
250R domination is over. The 4 strokes are going to be more reliable and stronger.
Look at Moto GP
4 stroke technology is advancing and dominating. The gap has closed considerable over the last 3 years.
The 4 strokes are faster on the straights, where as the 2 strokes are quicker out of the corners. (Past tense)
I dont want to see 2 strokes dissapear, but 4 stroke technology is overtaking.

if you do not belave me mud slinger that is fine but i really have never been beatin by a 4-stroke,(and yes including ds650,raptors, and some with modds) (and i have never raced a cannondale)
Even my friends with R's where i race dont belave it when I show them the slip and it says 5.5-5.6, so i could understand you not beleaving me i guess.

Yeah a good running piped R will outrun quite a few four strokes, but it can't outrun a piped banshee!!!!

The only way i can out run a shee is if the rider sucks. And if there pritty good were usuallly really close. Shees have more patential drag racing than an R, becuase theres just more to work with.
