Hey every one. yesterday I got my honda 450 stuck real good and when I mean stuck i mean stuck,I was beared. That night we had to leave it there for the next day. The next day we got my friends 400 foreman and tride to pull it out and it took a few times but lookily we got it out. Now im confinced on getting a winch for are new atvs but
I do not want to spend to much money, but I got a problem, where I was at last night the mud acted like a big suction vacoom, I just could not pull, or push on it. So where can I get a winch that can have plunty of power and get me out of the muckiest mud and be a good price???

lovinhonda, I suggest you read the responses to your previous post, inquiring about the merits of Rule, Warn and Superwinch.
Also, using the "Search" function, you'll find a lot of winch information.
Finally, stuck as you were, get a ****** block, whatever winch you buy!

i rode with a guy once who reconed the best way to get a bike out of that situation where suction was affecting it, was to pick it up on one side and roll it over!!!he rode a honda 300 4x4....no worries it was tough!!!!!

Welcome to the world of four wheel drive! The mud can be a lot of fun at times, and also a lot of trouble other times. To answer your question about the winch, I prefer Warn myself. That is only because I've had years of experience with them in the past, and have pretty much just stuck with them. A 2000 lb. winch will do you just fine, and actually you really don't need anything bigger than that anyway, as your machine won't be able to produce enough power to run a larger winch to it's full rated capacity. It's kind of difficult to explain, but I think Tree Farmer has done a great job of just that on a question I asked a few months back. If you are interested in finding out why you really don't need anything larger than the 2000 lbs. winch, go back a couple months in the Other ATV Topics, and look for a post from Cowboy about Winch Questions, or something like that. TF explains it very well.
Since you mentioned price being a concern, I'd probably have to recommend looking into Superwinch. They are probably just as good as Warn, but about half the price if I remember right. And, again like Tree Farmer said, get yourself a good ****** Block. It will double your winch's pulling power, so when you are stuck in the mud again, it will be easy to get you out. I paid right around $30 for mine, and have relied upon it several times now to get me out of sticky situations. --I even used my Warn A2000 on my 'Cat, equipped with the ****** block, to winch my stuck suburban and trailer out of a mud hole that was over the axle deep, and high centered on a culvert pipe. Pretty amazing, and definately not possible without a ****** block.
Anyhow, sorry to bore you with the "extra's", but hope this gives you a little insight on purchasing a winch.
Good luck in your decision.

Buy a hand crank come- a -long with a 2000lbs rating it is light weight and cheap to buy.A winch is a heavy thing to carry on the front if you do not use it much it's like bringing a 10" cement block out for a ride everyday.
