I am looking at a come-a-long, this way you can hook it up to the front or rear.

I had my first stuck last week too. Had to leave my 450ES and walk home (about two miles luckily). I bought a cheap Rubbermaid tuff box. In it I now have a comealong, tow strap, two short pieces of chain, and a thick nylon tow rope(used as a tree saver). I'll tell you they are a life saver. I really hated leaving it there first time. Been stuck three times since(and loving every minute of it). I want a winch too, but want to find one that can mount front or rear. You can't always go forward. Anyone have any info on these type of mount kits?

 

Well TREE FARMER and DIRTYHOWIES if thats how you spell it, anyways to anwser you'r question about my rancher is yes I do got 1. That day I was driving my dads 450-s foreman, my dad has a atv to. SO thanx for all of you'r replies it helped me out alote, chat at ya later.

 

Well lovinhonda up here in Canada we have a store called Canadian Tire...they sell cheap winches, they are superwinches, you probably need about a 3000lbs winch, they sell for somewhere around $300 here. Look around and see if you can find any stores with cheap winches, i bet you could find a few.
