Scrambler 500 4X4 Clutch Noise & Question, Picture
I have a '99 Scrammy, with a HPD clutch kit. I can hear a clanking sound at idle.

In the pic, what is that “thingy” in the middle? I think that is causing the noise. I believe there is play in there and I am assuming that is not good.

That thingy in the middle is your spider.What does your outer bearing look like?The one on the far end of the clutch by the bolt.Did you re-align the "x's" on the clutch?The clutch is a balanced assembly so you must put it back together correctly.There are also (6) buttons on the outer assembly around the spider thingy that lets it slide back and forth.Check those and see if they are worn.It probably would be a good idea to rebuild the clutch.
