Default Don't buy that new battery yet!

As with many others, my battery on my 02 Baja just up and quit after a few rides at Pismo last weekend. I mean DEAD from one ride to the next hit of the starter. BUT DON'T BUY A NEW BATTERY YET ! All I did was pop off the "Do not remove" cap and filled the DRY cells with drinking water, put it on a 2 amp charger for 20min and BAM! back in service. It has worked fine ever since........About 10 more rides that weekend. These batteries just dry up!

did the batteries change in '02? not positive right now, but I don't think there is any cap on my battery, I actually think its a dry cell....the paste kind.

On my first 10 hr oil change/check up I pulled the battery to check the levels. All cells were low, I added distilled water to get normal levels. That was the only abnormal thing I found on the checkup.

Yes, they changed from grey to black. The new black one is higher amps and more vibration resistant. The grey one can't be opened - I tried last week!

What abought the black ones? I replased my grey one with a black one abought a year ago and am having problems with it again. I tried to pop the top srtip that apeared to be the cap and it was glued down so I left it be. It is not a factory battery but it is a yuasa same part number as factory.

So your telling me they don't make the grey ones anymore???

And now the only battery you can get from the Dealer is Yuasa??

Damn I didn't know that...

What is the amperage on the grey one and what is it on the black one?

Thanks
