what is your question? how to change the timing chain or how to set the cams at top dead center?

 

I would like to know how to install a timingchain and the model is 2000 and not 1998

 

pull the valve cover, and you will see the chain then pull the side cover with the clutch cable on it, you will see where the chain goes thru there it is rather easy to figure out except there are a few torques to know but other than that easy you might want a manual for this i think there on cd for almost free if you ask around.

Set the engine at TDC then put the exhaust cam on with the lobes facing towards the front of the quad. There should be some marks on the cam sprocket. Line them up with the head so they are parallel then, do the same for the intake cam set (lobes facing towards the back of the quad now.)

I would also suggest the Shop Manual.
