I'm checking my new old toy out(see new to ATVs)I removed the carb ,I know of Mikunis from motorcycles,good stuff from what I hear, but I never messed with one ,so I see there is no acc.pump like the carbs I know,superE,kiehin,etc.mine off my LT230s 1985 vintage,where some Mikuni pics show a fuel mixture needle with spring -just a screw that is just tightened down which directs a tube into the carb throat,it does have what appears to be an AIR MIXTURE NEEDLE I set at 2turns on the side,there is 2 chokes or actually "starter" ***** one is actuated by lever(broken lever but the rod Rod moves up and down ,the other perpendicular to this a more conventional pull ****,pulls in and out,this carb is marked 22a and by Mikuni,.how do I set this up? I was told the ATV might have a hung up valve ,but when I pulled the plug and cranked it with the decompression valve closed it responded with a sharp crack easily with my finger in the plug hole -seems like good compression right? What is the model of these carbs?I will be getting a FM or Clymer's but til pay day any help isappreciated
Sorry I've been referring to mine as a LT230 s I guess this is wrong as it is chain drive and this is just an LT230(1985) sorry
