If it clicks, that means that the solenoid is opening, so the connections are good. can you listen closely, and see if the starter is moving? If it is not, sheck the connection on the starter, and the one on the solenoid. Open the starter gear cover (easy 4-8mm bolts on starter) and take out the starter gear that's on the cover. If the starter doesn't move, the starter is bad, or you have a wiring problem. If it does move, it means your one-way clutch is shot to **** and has jammed up the gear. If the starter didn't move, get one of those voltage checker thingys, and make sure the starter is getting power to it.

Becarefull with the jumping off thing. Mine was doing the exact.....err scratch that.....is doing the exact same thing. I could jump it off and it would start, but the battery alone wouldn't do it. I ended up melting my positive post on my battery somehow. I haven't figured out the problem because my bike is down for upgrades right now.

That does make ALOT of sense. I know that was my problem before I replaced my BADLY worn out cam chain. But now My cam timing is dead nuts on, but a good possibilty to look at.

Is the decompression mechanism on the end of the cam installed correctly? Is the cam installed correctly? Was it bored properly and did you check the ring gaps? How old is your battery? If you don't have a good battery connection, it won't allow enough current to flow even though the solenoid energizes, Fords will buzz when this happens. Did the engine acutally start when you jumped it or just turn over? If it didn't start with a jump, I'd pull it apart and double check EVERYTHING, something isn't right.
