I have a brand new 2000 Recon and the damn thing won't stay runnin till warmed up. Choke seems to do nothing. Checked the choke cable to ensure its pulling up the choke and it does. I have to keep thumbing the darn throttle to keep it running. Dealer said this is normal they are cold blooded. I have four quads and it isn't normal on them. Any answers would be helpful. This is only a week old.

Yeh Thats one of the downfalls of the recon, It is hard to start but once its warmed up it starts with minimal effort.
I have a 1998 recon and have noticed the same thing. What I did was turned the idle screw on the carb up a little bit so that it idles a little higher. Dont make it idle so high that it is difficult to shift because thats hard on the transmission. I hope this helps, mine idles fine about 30 seconds after the first start-up of the day, and then its fine.
Hope you dont have too much more trouble, if you have anymore questions about the bike just ask.

I can relate. Ours is the same way its 2 months old.

What we do is once it starts you have to sit there & give it gas for a minute or two.

The dealer told us the same thing when we took it in for its intial 20 hour check up.
