I run 20x10x10 9 paddle extremes. i tried just about every other tire before going with these. They gave me the best acceleration and traction without feeling like the tire was overpowering my bike. You want to get enough traction while still being able to break traction when needed. I am a full dune runner and drag occasionally. This is the best tire for my 686.

Running 20's will give you the same height as the stock tires. Keep in mind that running 22's will change your gearing giving you more speed but less horsepower as a result of the increased leverage of the taller tires. I prefer to keep my stock gearing. Again, I am an all-around rider but I have no trouble keeping up with the drag bikes with mods respectful to my own. I would definitely stay with the extremes though. They give so much more traction as a result of the stronger bars not being able to bend over backwards under stress.

Wait a minute, your gonna try and tell me that a taller tire (less torque) with fewer paddles (less sand displacement) will dig more than smaller tires (more torque) and more paddles (more sand displacement)?!!! That doesn't even make sense. Look at the physics of this situation:
Power + displacement = more traction (dig)
I'm not saying that 22's aren't a good choice depending upon what you are doing, but your reasoning is flawed.

I don't know who your talking to but all the drag racers run 22s because they expand and help your gearing on the top but for general use dunning and such 20 will work fine.

I was talking to Annihilator. I agree for drags a 22 is often the first choice. I was only addressing Annihilator's reasoning on the traction difference between the tires. Read his post and see for yourself.
I do a little dragging to. Usually at Atoka or LS. I still prefer my 20's. I feel like while they may be able to go a little faster in a gear, my extra torque allows me to more than make up for having to shift one more time. JMO

keep the arguments coming,i like the debate,i am confused as hell....be nice though..
Here is what i ride,i am a allaround rider, jumping and dunning, and i also like to hit the drags on the way,or go to the hill for a few races,i also like to hill drag not flat drag but i dont mind..
I hear that the 8 paddle would be better for the hills because the 7 padle might slip a little more.
what i need to figure out is do i want a 22 or 20 inch tire, and do i want a 7 or 8 paddle tire,i know for sure i want double buff extreme haulers..thanks.. I called sparks and they run a 7 paddle 22 inch triple buff...strictley for drags..
