do you need to upgrade the 01 raptor tranny before it craps out?if so how much should i expect to pay for it to be fully installed?any brands to go with?

Expect to pay $550-600 for parts for the FULL 02 conversion (this includes gaskets, etc...). Labor will probably cost $40-50/hr at a shop so I did mine myself to save $$. Dont know the book time on the job.

IMO - the 01 tranny is doomed for failure - it's just a matter of time. I'd do the conversion before it breaks to avoid any collateral damage (and more $$).

Toss in $50 for a Cryo treatment of the gears and it's a done deal.

 

I would go ahead and do it.......but then again........you may never have to.......I know several people with built 01 rappys with the stock trans.......with no problems...........

is it a gamle you are willing to take........
