Default Oil question Trans and diff aeon crossland 300 '07

Hi

I just wonder what oil I should use in my tranny and diff? The owner manual is rubbish and says just "gear oil 85w/140.." hmm what kind? Gl4 /gl5, hypoid? I called the dealer and he stated "85/90 og Gear oil.." I asked gl4 or gl5, and he just replied "no gl4/5, just " 85/90 atv Gear oil"

The atv has shifting like reverse /neutral /forward/low gear and tranny belt. Can I use a oil with specs as fully synthetic, gl4/5 compatible 85w/90?

The tranny is just gears, and no clutches and does not require hypoid oil? What is hypoid for?

Any help is appreciated 😊

Thanks for the article old Polaris tech, but unfortunately I have no idea how the gears are cut, and I don't now if there are clutches inside the gearbox, but I'm pretty sure it ain't, cause then I would have filed atf oil who is a pretty thin oil. The transmission is like a moped, when the speed increase the variator pushes the belt so it's get wider in front, as in results the quad gets faster, but I'm not shure how it gets in gear, but I'm guessing on good old shifting forks.

Here's a spreadsheet of the tranny and it seems quite simple to me, but for all I know it can be more to it

And the diff

Would you guys try the fully synthetic 85w/90 with gl4/5 specs? In my understanding I can't see what can go wrong.

Thank alot! the fluid of recommendation was gl5 and hypoid based, 80/90 viscosity. Then it's easy to buy the correct oil😄
