Default Double Jumps

Will you be ok on the landing as long as the front tires make it over the peak or if you land with the rear tires on the backside like that will it toss you? It's my second MX race and my strategy is if I can hit this one double no one else hit's in the beginner class I can get an edge on them. It’s not that big of a jump, the face is probably 4’ but it’s steep. The landing about 10’ out.

Hit it in 3rd WFO, Oh yea what ever you do don't let off the throttle until the rear wheels have left the ground. That's if you even let off at all! Good luck and If ever a Doubt Throttle Out.

You should be fine if you get your front over the knuckle (peak). ive had some bad landings where my front cleared but my rears just landed on the Knuckle. The front slams down hard but can be controlled. you want to be landing with your quad at the same angle as the backside of the jump.

easier said then done. the key is tapping your rear brake at the right time. this will take the momentum from your rear spinning wheels and force the nose down. Remember tap the brake. you don't want to land with your rears locked.

this is definately something you need to practice. don't try and pull this off the first time at an event. it's a strange feeling when you tap it for the first time and that front drops. it's all in the timing. when you flow through without even feeling the landing. you've mastered it.

practice on a similar sized table top jump. when you start landing on the downslope good try the double.

I've seen guys that are used to riding 2 stroke bikes get on a 4 stroke quad and just about kill themselves every time they jump. You have to keep the power on til you leave the jump or the compression breaking will cause you to go nose down. If that happens, grab all the throttle you can. The rear tires spinning works the opposite of tapping the break to bring the front end down. If you're not used to jumping with a quad, do the tabletops first.
