SamCoe Performance Service

I got my DS back from SamCoe Wed. And alll I can say is "%$#^%#@#%@#" The first time I had him build my 720 the piston was hitting the head !! Now I get back the second time after 5 WEEKS!! and it was missing the top motor mount bolt, the 2 allen bolts at the base of the jug were missing. Plus before I sent it back to him this last time I Had RWR install some larger valve seats (40mm/34mm) in my head while it was off. SamCoe was suposed to do the valve job and set all the valve heights. So I pulled the cams and checked what he had done and found that he did not set the valve height, The valve shims were only sitting in their pockets .002 to .003 and the shims were extra thin in order to get the correct valve clearance. The problem is the shim could pop out of their pockets!! So now I have pulled my motor. If there is a lesson to be learned here it is"You get what you pay for" don't try to save a buck by mixing parts and labor from different shops. Bottom line I will NEVER go back to SamCoe Performance.

One more thing I just looked inside the Exhaust ports and noticed that SamCoe did some unauthorized porting He compleatly removed the valve guide bosses in the exhaust ports. If I am not mistaking, that would ruin the head or am I wrong??

Removing the valve guide bosses wont ruin the head. Valve guide life may decrease ever so slightly because there is not as much support for the valve stem.

Hey Scott are you sure Sparks didn't do that? Why aren't you running shim under buckets? You are asking for big trouble there bro!
