Default SLow grizz beyond me?

Ok here is the deal, I pulled the Grizz out of the shed today and went for a ride. The beast won’t go over 30-35 in high and about 15 in low. The engine will wind all the way up but there just isn’t any speed. I don’t hear the belt slipping but it could be. Now 2 rides ago the vent tube in the front of the clutch came off at the block. I didn’t know this until I forded a swamp and of course flooded the clutch with swamp juice. After that I cleaned the clutch with engine degreaser and water. I went for a ride last weekend and it worked fine. So the question is, why can’t I get any speed?

The CVT isn't "working fine" if the engine is revving but the CVT doesn't allow for it to speed up. Rare problem I guess, search doesn't turn much up... Someone with a diagnostic flow chart out there? ( My personal take is corrosion has frozen a moving part since you flushed it out, hope I don't have to do that kind of stuff on my grizz. )

have you checked to see if your clutches are adjusted properly?

bottom line, your belt is slipping, or your clutch is not opening up properly.
did you overgrease the clutch? was it broken down completly and regreased, dried properly?
are you sure you have no water, mud, sand, sludge, in the clutch?
break her back down and redo it. use a teaspoon of grizzly grease on each bearing. make sure it is free of dirt, no grease on the smooth sides, and anything liquid.
good luck

I'll have to say the clutch is not my area of expertese so I havn't realy done much except wash it out. I have looked at the blow out schmatics and think I could tackle taking it apart if need be. I would have to believe there are special tools involed though.

Had the same problem on mine. chances are these it buildup in the primary sheave, not allowing it to work properly... Tear it all down, clean & re-grease and you should be ready to roll... There are no special tools required to clean the belt system, aside from a torque wrench, all you need are a few select hand tools... You don't need the sheave holder tool, you can hold the primary sheave with a socket extension, there are a little ribs on the outer ring, wedge it between that and the frame down by the floorboards. Then you can torque it down...
