Hey everybody.. I just got my first banshee the other day and I just can't get it cranked when it's cold.. I talked to one guy and he said that it has some kind of trick to get it cranked.. What do you all think? If there is one, please help me out here, I can only ride it on wednesday and friday so I'm willing to try everything!

Should be no tricks, just choke it and give it a couple kicks. Should fire right up. Good Luck. What do you mean cant get it cranked.

What I mean is, when I get on it the first time, I choke it, kick it and kick it and it won't fire.. It's got new plugs in it but it still won't go.. I don't understand it..

You should use full choke(without giving any throttle) kick until it hits then go half choke with throttle 1/4 way. If you ever flood it then you will become frustrated trying to crank it. The key is to no throttle until it hits. This is the way I do it guess everybody differs on how they crank theirs.

Try adjusing the air screws for the pilot jets. Gently seat the screws and back out 1 1/2 turns.

I had to go thru the same learning process when starting my 1997 Banshee cold. Choke, don't touch the throttle and it will start by the 3rd kick. Just don't touch that throttle, if you do it defeats the ability of the choke circuit to pull the raw gas in. As the weather warms up, say 60+ you should only need half choke and only for about 5-8 seconds.....hope this helps

I'm running fmf pipes, stock filter, 260 mains and stock idle jets.
