Need advice on 400 scambler drag racing
#1
I have a 400 scrambler with an HPD trail mod kit and I need tech tips for 300 ft. drag racing. What can I do to improve top end speed while retaining and improving good holeshots? Which would be the best improvement V-force reeds, Rapid roller clutch, Comet 103 HPQ clutch, Flywheel race lightened, Boyesen rad valve, or go with a diferent gear ratio? I want to do everything in the future but only doing one or two things for now(financial reasons). Please help.

you just should run a totally different clutch setup for racing, like
the violet primary,44/45-38 helix,58 g of weights,but i don't think
a trail mods engine will pull that setup anyway...

They say that race-cutting the plastic will gain you 3-5 mph on top end...that's free. I think the AZ Bad Boyz site still has some pics of the modified "Batmobiles". Stay away from the Boyeson reeds, the v-force, even the first series had better performance on the dyno. You can't go wrong with the Team Industries roller secondary, that and the HPD kevlar drivebelt. Flywheel lightening is a great one for gaining quickness in the revs...go all the way, and remove the starter/ battery, get the White Bros battery eliminator kit. Loose the oil injection and premix 40:1. Either remove the floorboards or get the aluminum units (and the front bumper) from a 4x4 Scrambler...those are actually very inexpensive right through your dealer.
