Default 2004 Sportsman 700

MY friend has a 04 700, when his engine reaches 4100RPM's the electronics drop out the front axle and take you back to 2wd? Y is this? Is there anyone out there that knows of a way to put in an override switch to bypass this on occasion? We took a 33 mile ride yesterday and went through some serious mudholes, and I ended up pulling his 700 out with my 450 Kodiak. If he would have been able to keep the front axle engaged, he would have most likely made it. I also own a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 400 and he says that the 600 and the 700's are the only ones that drop out the front axle when a certain RPM is reached. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Thanks:
Keith
