04 Sp 500 over revving at 45 mph... help

i rode my sp 500 today and i was going 45 mph and it was doing fine... untill i decided to giver sum more throttle and then it started revvin at about 6200 rpm plus it wasnt really accelerating... before this like a day before it was doing 53 mph easy... i dont know if sumthing came loose or what.. please help

As someone stated before the white plastic nut for the EPS is loose. More common on the 600, but can happen on 500.
Take cover off and tighten nut on the secondary.

also...(sorry about the multiple posts) [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] when my problem happened ... its started revvin so i thought i would turn the idle **** so it idled down it did.. but when i gunnned it again it overreved again??? so if i fix this how much will it help?

What year SP do you have, May be I should have asked you first. If you do not have EBS, it sounds as if your belt is slipping at high RPM's.

Da, Just noticed on your name 04 sportsman. Try and remove a shim (washer) from behind the secondary, if there are more than one perhaps this is preventing shift-out.

yea it is 04 sportsman 500 ho with ebs... im going to the mountains on fri... tomorow and i had a buddy that was leaving early to get a good camp spot.. take my quad with him... so i wouldnt have to haul it so i will get back to you guys on monday morin when i get back.. l8r.. thanks a lot so far
