anyone else having trouble getting a vortex CDI in a reasonable amount of time. i guess they are having to special order them? should have told me this before I ordered, instead of saying they could get one in a day or two. someone dropped the ball on these ignitions for the DS. Special order overseas is not what we want people!

I have two no problems getting them for me!! one of my vortex's is the coustom made elect shift cut out version they were easy to get??? i got mine from Russell Karting [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Here is the skinny ... The Vortex CDI's now are all distributed through one company and imported from Australia. If dealers are able to stock a few, then they will have them; it depends on the dealer and the demand they have at the time. I will say that I have found that there are LOTS of the standard DS vortex units out there. The problem is for most dealers from time to time is that the Baja DS CDI's are so popular, they cant keep up with the demand. There are people that I know that have patiently waited for for 4 weeks, but I've also heard of folks only waiting one day. Clearly, there aren't enough out there to create a glut on the market, thats for sure!

well i was lookin at this one site [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img], and they have it for $400 i think and it comes wit a replacment flag and a K&N filter, but for ppl like me who don't have a flag and already have a aftermarket filter its a waste of 50 bux IMO, ands thats worse since its US money

 

If you find it cheaper please post it! I for one would like to know who is selling for less.

and iron, i'm not tryin 2 say ur prices are high, i'm just wondering y you can't just buy the cdi alone?

 

Wow lil you have a good memory thats the price i payed see i was close!!

 

the dealer ran out of them and when he went to get more they were out so they had to get more in from overseas, which added 1.5 weeks. I should have mine in a few days.
