What's the big deal about top speed
#1
I've seen alot of posts asking which quad is the fastest, and which quads are faster than the V, and my quad dyno'd at a such and such a speed at such and such horsepower...blah blah blah.
I guess alot of people drag race their quads cause I can't really see where all that stuff matters.
I bought my first quad 9 months ago. It was a Polaris Trailblazer 250. I bought it because it was the easiest to ride. Just put it in gear and go have fun. That's what I wanted to do, go have fun, and that's what my family and I did.
When I got better at riding, and wanted a bit more power, I researched, and talked to people, and bought a V. Put it in gear and go have fun.
Now that i've been riding my V for 3 months, and have gotten used to the sick amount of power it puts out stock, I find that I won't need any more power. If my V were any more powerful, I'd have trouble hanging on while riding. It has more than enough power for the trails, hills, sand and tracks that I ride on. The thing will weelee when ever I want it to with the flick of the thumb, and I weigh 230lbs.
My favorite type of riding is MX style on tracks with tight turns and big jumps. I've found that it isn't the amount of power your quad has that makes you fast, but the size of your *****, and your riding skill level. Of course a 250 is going to have trouble keeping up with a 700 but I have been out ridden and beaten by guys on Honda 300's who just flat had more skill than me.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, that for those who feel as I do, it is ok, to be ok, with a stock bike. I'm not a wus because I don't want my quad to go light speed.
For those who don't agree with me.......and have the nads to ride at mach 2, and can handle the power, or just want the power....Then....More power to you. Hang on and have fun.
There.........I've said my peace. The encounter group session is over. I feel much better.
P.S. If any one sees my V with dual exhaust..........I did it cause it looks and sounds cool...

Well, you say what's the big deal with speed then you say you like riding MX..hmmm. J/K. I know what you mean, I would never mod my bike to the point of sacrificing dependability. All the big bikes haul butt! There is nothing slow about anything above 400cc four strokes and all the 2 strokes will go with some cheap mods. I ride in the sand and you really need as much power as you can get in the dunes, the sand will make your bike feel like it's dragging a tree. The cool part about quads is that they don't have to carry you to work so basically they are toys! It's a big rush to ride one that is really fast so guys mod like maniacs..

Oh yea, guys have beeen racing stuff ever since the second guy jumped on horseback. Doesn't matter what it is, if two guys both have one... IT'S ON! Always has been, always will be. Motorcycles, trucks, bicycles, lawn mowers... just doesn't matter. Guys are gonna race em...
