Default 04 700SP questions

I just traded my 500SCR in on a new 04 700 Sportsman. I have a few questions to those of you that own them.
1. Any things I really need to pay attention to, as far as maintenance issues?
2. I herd the stock primary spring is on the tame side, did any of you change just the spring and weights and if so what did you put in and what gains did you see.
3. Any other info not mentioned that you might think is important please respond.
PS I love this bike I never rode a Sportsman of any cc before, I can't believe the ride or the steering, it's a lot lighter than I expected
One thing that is confusing me is: mine is a 04, but it doesn't have the digital fuel gauge, is this available as an option? The other differences are the tires, which I like the Rawhides better anyway. Everything else seems to be the same as the 04.5's. I did ask about the updated cooling system as indicated on the Polaris web site. and my dealer said all 04 600 & 700 have a new cooling system, what the difference is I don't know . I think just a larger capacity radiator.
Thanks for the comments/help

Trailblazer,

I myself just purchased a '04 700 and I love it. I was talking to the saleman about the fuel gauge and he said that Polaris wont be shipping any atv's with this option on them until October or so. That kinda disappointed me, I think it's a nice feature. Other than that he said the new cooling system is available on all current and future '04 models.

I really love mine too. I'm still in that "break-in period", so I have yet to actually give it full throttle for any extended length of time. I just picked it up Friday and I didn't even get to ride it by myself, as soon as I start it up my daughter who will be 2 this Sep. looses her mind. Needless to say I take her, I would say she really loves the ride over the Scrambler.

I have never owned one, but I had a bud who had a 500HO, said the main thing on the Polaris bikes is to keep all the zerk's full of grease. He told me there was some unGodly high number of zerks too

On the older models, yes I think you can use a whole tube of grease for one go-around. On my new bike there are very few zerks. The wheel berings and the drivshafts and sterring stem is all that is stated in the manual.
