Help me quiet exhaust leak...please....
#1
I'm putting my stock silencer back on. There is a leak where the silencer meets the header. It is still WAY too loud for CA standards. My question is, how is the best way to seal up the gap between the two joints and quiet this thing down??....thanx...

i'm not sure if there is a clamp there or not but... go to napa and get some "exhaust system sealer". i know it sounds silly but i am a mechanic by trade and i swear by the stuff. unless you've got a big leak, which obviously it can't fix, it works wonders. my raptor's pipes were leaking at the junction and i put some of it one, no leaks ever since.

wshrdskin..I had to cut my gasket off to put the Pro Circuit slip on over the header. 660x2..thats what I was thinking, but wasn't sure what it was called. So do I wrap it around the outside of the pipe and silencer, or can I wrap the end of the pipe and clamp the silencer over it?? I noticed the leak is coming from the area of the clamp, so if I put it on thick and long enough on the header, it will compensate for the gap left near the clamp. Does this sound do-able?? Thanx again for the help guys.....
