K&N power kit for the '03 400 Auto
#4
you can get just about anything at www.rockymountainatv.com
or www4atvtires.com which is atv direct.
but I do believe that the kit for the manual with the jets and all are the same for the auto. call your dealer and see if the carb part numbers are the same.
and needle and jet kits are available at places like these and www.denniskirk.com too.
just remember that new jets voids the warranty.. but if you do it let me know how well it works cause I am looking for ways to get more power.

I went and bought a power kit (K&N filter and Dyno jet kit) for an 02 400 AC and put it on my 03 400 AC 4X4. Automatic or manual does not matter I think. Had to change to needle setting and use a smaller jet size than what the instructions said. Kind of had to play with it a bit until the bike ran just fine at all speeds. It has more bottom end power now (this was what I was looking for). Top speed is about the same but the gas mileage got better for most of my riding style.

Got my kit from www.royaldistributing.com which is an outfit in Ontario Canada. It is Dynojet # 81-Q615.001, 2002 Arctic Cat, AC 400 4X4, Stage 1. K&N Filter # AC-4096. I'm sure you can get this at many different companys in the US as well (that's where the good stuff comes from in the first place).
bottom and mid range powerband improves with this kit. I used Jet DJ124. The instructions for the '02 Cat call for DJ132 below 3000 feet and DJ128 from 3000 to 6000 feet. The needle is on groove # 1 or 2 (can't remember right now but it depends a bit at what elev. you are at and what kind of air filter you use). You can get a lot more power if you use a bigger jet and remove the filter housing lid and.... but pretty soon it's best to get a 500 or the 650 (love to have it) in the first place.
