I know a lot of you guys don't read dirt wheels, but have you seen the latest issue. They in my opinion totally bashed the predator, they had it up against a z440 and yzf 450. The predator had a slip on pipe and some suspension mods. All three had gecko paddles, why do they use those junkers for testing. The predator came in a distant last according to them in a 500ft drag race and the z440 would eventually catch the yzf.

I subscribe to DW and saw that "shootout" wasnt much of a shootout. If they had put as much money as they did in the Z the predator would have been kicking *** and taking names. I have also seen a Predator beat a yzf. Both only had a silencer and an air-box mod. The predator beat it by a bike length or two and they had even starts. I have always had a hunch that DW was racist against polaris. And this just furtheres that fact....

I really didn't believe it myself because from the picture it look like a good 10 links and I knew there was no way that was right.

I was particularly impressed how whenever they wrote the word predator...they tried to take a cheap stab at it....not! It was crap, that's all it is. Of course the Z shoulda been faster with those mods. Look at the end of the article where they list the money stuck into each quad...the pred was by far the cheapest, and 2nd cheapest was $900 away. And they said they loved the suspension on the Z...no duh...with Elka's on the front they better not be complaining. For the $900 difference that the pred was behind the yfz you could stick in a rev box, cams, and high comp. piston and wax the lot of them!! Anyway....yeah, had to vent...but it was unnecessary of them to do that comparison...let alone take 3 cheap stabs at the preds, tranny.....maybe someone should tell them this polairs isn't an auto...oh look, a clutch...uhhhhh.....what does that do? Sorry, I'm done!

DirtWheels will do anything to make suzuki happy. In the last issue they did times around an mx track, obviously the Z400 beat the 400EX. But what pissed me off was that the Z had Elkas all around and was piped and jetted, the only mods the EX had was handlebars! What a bunch of Idiots.

I was most interested in the Z portion of the article, so the "Pred bashing" and "YFZ pedastal-propping" didn't bother me - I already knew that was coming from DW regardless.

I'd like to know from the Z guys who have the 440 kit & mods, how accurate real world performance (dunes, trails, and track) and the DW shootout actually compare against the Pred and YFZ. Any Z owners have some constructive feedback?

I've always wondered that. Why is it the ragazines tend to do unfair comparisons? If they are going to test something why not give say all the quads Elkas, handlebars, and pipes? Or just keep them all stock? DW is by far the crappiest rag there is.

ATV Sport and ATV Magazine do HONEST shoot out's. I have never read DW but I have heard that the reason why they favor certain ones is because of the ummm...."advertising money" they recive from companies
