Predator sprokets

I know this has been discused before, but i am at the point of buying new sprockets to gain some help on the low end. What does everyone recommend as far as brand and tooth count keeping in mind i don't want destroy the top end performance.

If you want to improve the low, but keep the top...try going with a 38 or 39 tooth rear sprocket. They can be found at polaris, or sprocketspecialists.com. A 13/38 combo would really be great for tight woods and hills, but really kills the top-end...makes you hit rev-limiter in 5th. But try a 38 or 39 tooth rear and you should be sitting good without losing too much top-end.

Pudl's info is dead-on. Buy 2 sprockets, the 13T and a 38T and mix and match with your stock 14T and 37T depending on where you are riding. Sprocket Specialtist carries both, Purepolaris carries the rear only.

Anyone have any problems bolting up thier 13t from Sprocketspecialist? The holes didn't match up perfectly on mine, had to basically force it a bit to get it to go on. Didn't seem to hurt anything, but I don't want to end up breaking a bolt in there.

Funny thing happened this weekend, I was at the mound of sand called comp hill at Pismo and was racing two other Predators that had pipes and K&N's and smoked both of them every time These guys couldnt figure out wht the H@#% was going on. One of them waved me over and asked me what I had done to my bike because I still have the stock pipe and he was getting smoked. My reply, "Its stock! You just need to learn to ride " After about 5 or 6 "its stock" comments I gave in and gave up the secret on the 13 tooth front. I dont recall the brand of my sprocket, just pulled it off the shelf of my local dealer: greyish package with blue lettering. No problems so far, it doesnt use the factory retaining clip with the bolts though just a regular clip. This is the best cheapest mod you can do to your Predator by far. 3rd gear wheelies and any little bump in 4th in the power band and the front goes in the air if you want it too.

ProX, I had the same deal with mine. Don't remember the specifics, but the XL, or XR sprocket, one of them you have to mod the lock on. That steel is nuts hard, basically have to cut the end of one of the ears off with a cut-off wheel, then it works.

ProX, I belive after Modquad called up sproket specialists and told them what happened, they had listed the wrong part number, so those reading and wanting to order the 13T should get the right one now without haveing to modify the holding ring.

ProX, I had the same problem with a 15 tooth from them, just a hair off, but with a little force was able to get the bolt started. Just take a file and massage the clip a hair. Probly a friday afternoon run of gears.
