Brake Pads?
#1
Can anyone tell me what brake pads last the longest? My original Polaris pads lasted 1800 miles which is great but the cost here in Alberta is very high. I know from past topics that some of you have had very good success with after-market pads so I would appreciate some help.

traildog i tried a set of rear aftermarket brakes from vesrah which i bought from royal distributing and the pad seperated from the backer on the first ride resulting in a ruined roter , the same thing happened to my friend on his honda with these vesrah brakes , they where a little cheaper but they ended up costing me money.you would think that a big aftermarket supplier like royal could get a better brake pad supplier because i am sure there is some good ones out there ,but i will keep using the stockers until i find one. just a word of warning.

I put polaris factory brakes on, and yes they are expensive, but work well.Dennis Kirk has a large selection of pads. Ebay also has a few pads.

That is excellent information, thanks very much.
The last time I asked them for a price on regular pads was in 98 and they wanted $62 for each front and $67 CAD for a rear set. I'm almost afraid to ask what extreme pads cost today. I'll let you know.
